I AM ON THE LOOK FOR.....

OK! I am on the hunt for an item. If you know how or where I can get it please let me know. This is what it is...You know like you see in the movies those really big boxes with the tops that come off where they are decorated on the top and bottom to look like on big gift and sometimes in the movies a dog pops out when opened. Well that is what I need a box like that. It needs to rather big for several items to be put inside of it at christmas. There is going to be a project sent home to you with more details for you and your child to work on that will go inside this big box. If you or anyone you know can make it or knows where I can get one PLEASE let me know ASAP thanks! You can contact me day or night at 1-904-406-4976. I am also hoping that it will not cost to much to get it either so if I have to buy it try to find out the price and all thanks!

THE TIME HAS COME.....

The time for what you ask?!? For me to ask for a donation to be sent in. Mrs. Rebecca has spent lots in the class thus far with the t-shirts, halloween, pictures, plates, napkins, ect. Mrs. Rebecca has also done the doors for each holiday thus far as well with only one parents help with Octobers door. I have done Thanksgivings door and will do a Christmas door as well. So with that being said I am asking for at least $4.00 to be sent in to help in the cost of the door decorations, pictures, and other stuff already done in the class, and it will also help with the Thanksgiving Turkey we are going to have. If you could send in the money I would greatfully appreciate it and if you can send it in an envelope marked Mrs. Rebecca and I will set it aside to help out with next months door and projects. Thanks.

FIREMEN CAME TO VISIT US AT R.O.E!

We had fireman Chris and fireman Mike from the Clay County Fire and Safety Department come out to teach us the importance of fire safety. Since this was fire safety week at school this week we were all geared up to have them come and talk to us. They taught us that it is important to know all the names of our family members that we live with. Also we should know our address, phone number, where we should meet our families when/if there is a fire in our homes outside far and safe from the fire, and to make sure we check our smoke detectors once an month and the batteries once per year, and last but not least how and when to dial/call 911.

Some of the safety issues that are involved in a fire no matter where you are is to 1st have working detectors in your home, know exactly how your detector sounds, listen at all times if you ever hear the snoke detector going off and if you do find the safest and fastest way out of your home and get far away and to your families safe spot to meet. If you were in a fire and your clothes caught on fire then you should always do the following: "STOP, DROP, AND ROLL" then try to get out as safe and fast as you can. If you are living in a 2 story home and you are upstairs and you hear a smoke detector go off then sometimes you might have to go out a window. In that case make sure you have climbing ropes or folding ladders to climb safely down to the ground and then get to your families safe spot as quickly and safe as you can.

Fire Safety is VERY important! Please take this time to talk to your family about fire safety in your home and find a safe spot outside where everyone can meet incase there was ever a fire in your home. Make sure they know ALL of their contact information and most importantly Rember to alway practice cause "PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT"!

FIRE SAFETY WEEK!

We will study fire safety this week, and on Friday 10-16-09 we will have a special demonstration by the Clay County Volunteer Fire Department! YEAH!

So with that said take this opportunity to talk to your family about fire safety and set a special place outside your house where everyone is to meet that is far enough away to be safe and away from the fire. Also have a special password that only everyone in your family will know so that if they are lost or in a fire or if someone they know tries to get them to go with them they can say what is the special family password and if they do not know it then they are NOT to go! Also make sure that you have a way for everyone to escape out the house incase of fire. If you live in a two story home make sure you have drop down ladders by the main windows up stairs so that everyone can get out if they are on the 2nd story. Make sure everyone in your home knows everyones name, their address, their phone numbers, and how/when to dial 911. And last but not least make sure that you have installed smoke detectors and that they are all in working order! If you do not have any or do not know how to check them feel free to call the fire department closes to you and they will come out and show you what you need to do/know.

All of these things are VERY IMPORTANT! Please talk to everyone in your home and remeber to always practice fire safety!

ITEMS NEEDE ASAP!

The following is a list of items that are needed for the class this month:

  • Empty paper towel rolls for FALL craft.

HOME WORK QUESTIONS?

Mrs. Treece has been getting some questions regarding the childrens homework. And it all boils down to this one question....Where do we get the "Read - Aloud Trade Book" and the "Pre - Decodable Reader? It appears that both are needed for homework yet we do not receive these books in our child/children's take home notebook.

Answer: The book that you get in your child/children's notebook is the book that you need to review/practice at home nightly with your child/children. Do not worry about the "Read - Aloud Trade book" and the Pre-Decodable Reader. These books are at school and Mrs. Treece will be going over them in the classroom on a daily basis. If there was ANY confusion Mrs. Treece says she is sorry!

Story Book Parade

On October 1, 2009 Mrs. Treece along with Mrs. Rebecca Grimm and Mrs. Burke introduced to the class our story book parade idea. We are going to be the M&M Brand Counting Book. The class is going to dress-up like M&M's and parade out fron on the main bus loop that morning. After that they are going to come back to their room for pizza, a small treat, and goodie bags and music. Parents are invited to come watch the parade so bring those cameras cause they are expected to be CUTE! We also on that same day read the book to all the boys and girls in the class and enjoyed eating some very yummy M&M's. Mrs. Burke helped take some pictures of the event and I hope that everyone had a good time. If you see a picture of your child you would like to have just remeber to describe it as best as you can and then send in the money to help with the cost of printing that particular photo/photos out for you. Hope everyone enjoys the viewing and we look forward to seeing many of our students dressed-up and also many of the parents attending the fun event on October 30, 2009.

Community Helpers Day!

In kindergarten at ROE the children got to dress-up as their favorite Community Helper. We enjoyed that week. On that Friday everyone dressed-up as for example....a Dr., a fireman, teacher, a police man, a pilot and many more. So everyone should take this opportunity to sit with their child/children and ask them what they want to be when they grow-up. You will love hearing the fun things they say!

COME ONE COME ALL!

Hello to all in Mrs. Treece's Kindergaten class! This is going to be our classroom blogsite. This site is going to be set-up so that everyone can keep in contact with everyone in the class and to see what is going on not only with the students but in the class as well. If you have a blog that is your personal blogsite or family you are welcome to send in your address to the site and we can add it on here as well. We will update as soon as possible that things are going to be happening so I suggest that you check this blog if not daily atleast every other day. You will also find pictures that were taken by either Mrs. Treece or Mrs. Rebecca Grimm posted here as well. If you would like to have a particular picture of your child all you have to do is describe the picture that you want and send in some money to help cover the printing cost of that particular picture/pictures. If for any reason you do not want your child to be talked about or posted on here just send in a note to let Mrs. Treece know and she will discuss the situation with me in private that way I can know not to include your child. But I honestly think you all are going to like this and we decided to do this mainly because there have been alot of cut backs in the county and paper, copying, materials, ect have been cut as well so we would love to help in that area and save a few more trees so that if there is a true need for a paper trail notice/letter we can have that paper for that. Hope that everyone enjoys the site and please feel free to check back as often as you like. ENJOY :)!
